As the saying goes, “The emperor’s throne changes hands, and next year it might be mine.” But when your turn finally comes, can you hold on to it? I’ve been in crypto for nine years, and I’ve realized there are only two ways for ordinary people to turn things around!

I entered the market at 22. I lost several million at first, then gradually made tens of millions back.
Now I can travel wherever I want, and I no longer have to worry about everyday expenses.

Looking back on these nine years, one thing has become clear to me: if you want to make big money in crypto, you don’t need a lot of strategies. The key is seizing opportunities.

The first way: catch three 10x coins
Let’s say you start with 10,000:
10,000 → 100,000 → 1,000,000 → 10,000,000
Mathematically, you only need three consecutive 10x gains. But the real challenge is choosing the right coins, holding on to your profits, and getting out in time near the top.
A lot of people sell after making 30%, but stubbornly hold on when they’re down 50%. Then the big rally comes, and they still don’t make any money.

The second way: compound your gains with futures
If your starting capital is small and you want to build it faster, you can look into compounding your position—but there are three rules you have to follow.
1. Don’t trade until the opportunity is there
Keep an eye out for sideways movement after a sharp drop, a high-volume breakout, and a stable retest. If the direction isn’t confirmed, it’s better to stay out.
2. Start small, then add to your position once you’re in profit
For example, if you have 50,000 in your account, use just 5,000 to open a 10x isolated-margin position, giving you an actual position size of 50,000. If the price moves 2% against you, the theoretical loss is 1,000, not including fees and slippage.
If you’re right about the direction, roll some of your profits into the position. If you’re wrong, cut your losses promptly.
3. When you make money, lock in your profits
Once your account doubles, withdraw some of it first. Don’t spend months building up your position only to hand it all back to the market in one trade.

Of course, catching 10x coins and compounding with high leverage are both difficult and risky. Neither path guarantees you’ll turn things around.

The biggest mistake in crypto is gambling on small opportunities every day, then having no capital left when a big opportunity comes along.
Trade less in ordinary times. When an opportunity comes, be ready to seize it—and know when to take your profits.
Protect your principal first, then look for a way to build your first nest egg.
If you want to go far in crypto, first learn to manage your position size, pace, and stop-losses.
