【Market Flash】DotSwap V1 was attacked, and approximately 8.5 BTC ($685,000) was transferred out over four hours on October 25.
The culprit was V1’s legacy server-side signing mechanism. V1 pools were managed using custodial multisig, with losses borne by liquidity providers in the pools. All V1 deposits were affected, while self-custody wallets were unaffected. V1 is now offline.
Legacy interfaces have repeatedly become points of entry for attacks. Would you avoid older platforms that haven’t completed their migrations? Share your thoughts in the comments.
