I. Ethereum Market Trend Analysis

As of 3:00 p.m. Beijing time on October 27, 2026, Ethereum’s spot price was $2,309, down approximately 0.57% over the past 24 hours. The price fluctuated within the $2,300–$2,320 range, showing an overall pattern of weak consolidation. On the hourly candlestick chart, the latest candles have repeatedly tested support near $2,300, while $2,320 above serves as short-term resistance.

The moving-average system is broadly bearish, with the current price below the 7-period moving average at $2,314, the 25-period moving average at $2,320, and the 99-period moving average at $2,350. Short-term moving averages continue to trend downward and are closing in on the price, creating layers of resistance. For exponential moving averages, the 7-period EMA is $2,315, the 25-period EMA is $2,319, and the 99-period EMA is $2,348. The price is trading below all major moving averages, confirming a clear bearish trend.

II. In-Depth Technical Indicator Analysis

The Bollinger Bands show an upper band at $2,331, a middle band at $2,317, and a lower band at $2,303. The price is moving within a narrow range between the middle and lower bands. The band width has contracted to a low level, suggesting a breakout may be approaching. If the price falls below the lower band at $2,303, it could accelerate downward toward the $2,290 area.

For the MACD, the DIF line is -3.87, the DEA line is -4.17, and the histogram is +0.31. Notably, the histogram has turned positive from negative, indicating that bearish momentum has eased somewhat. However, both DIF and DEA remain below the zero line, and the overall trend has yet to reverse. The 6-period RSI is 51.11 and the 12-period RSI is 48.20. The short-term RSI has moved back above 50, indicating some buying interest, though it remains limited.

For the KDJ indicator, K is 39.10, D is 39.02, and J is 39.25. The three lines are entangled in the low range below 40, with no clear directional move yet. The Williams %R (WR) is -53.73, rebounding from oversold territory and suggesting a short-term technical recovery may be due. The Parabolic SAR is at $2,337, well above the current price, and its bearish signal remains unchanged.

III. Market Sentiment and Capital Flow Analysis

Ethereum is currently facing multiple headwinds. On the capital-flow front, spot ETFs continue to see redemptions, with net outflows of $88.6 million on October 26 alone and weekly institutional net outflows exceeding $198 million, signaling significant selling pressure. Meanwhile, dormant early ICO addresses and users withdrawing their staked DeFi assets have transferred more than 5,500 ETH to centralized exchanges, increasing the immediately tradable supply.

Among major negative developments, a whale from the 2015 Ethereum ICO period transferred more than 4,500 ETH to an exchange. Based on an acquisition cost of $0.31 at the time, the whale has already made enormous profits. The same address also transferred more than $100 million in stablecoins to exchanges and OTC desks, raising concerns about further selling.

At the ecosystem level, the closure of interfaces on Layer 2 platforms such as Blast has prompted capital reallocation, with some funds returning to the mainnet. On the positive side, short-term RSI indicators are showing signs of a rebound, and the MACD histogram has turned positive from negative, suggesting the possibility of a technical recovery from oversold conditions. However, given continued ETF outflows and selling pressure from whales, Ethereum’s short-term rebound potential is limited. $2,300 is a key psychological support level; if it breaks, the price may test the $2,280 area.
