The other person wants you to install screen-sharing software so they can “help you operate your device.” Is that okay?
My understanding: legitimate account issues can generally be handled through the official app or website. If someone asks you to do things in a chat app, that’s suspicious in itself.
Remote-control software can operate your device directly. Once installed, the other person can click to confirm things and even see the verification codes you receive.
What I do: If someone pressures me to transfer money immediately, I stop and take a moment. Most scams rely on you not taking time to think.
