Strive (Nasdaq: ASST) disclosed in an 8-K filed with the SEC that during the week of October 17–23, it bought 6,182 $BTC in one go at an average price of about $82,732 (including fees), spending approximately $511 million in total. Its Bitcoin holdings rose from 36,818 to 43,000 BTC; over the same period, cash and cash equivalents increased from about $317.5 million to about $504.4 million (book figures as of October 16 → 23). The company also holds 505,000 shares of Strategy preferred stock STRC, with a fair value of approximately $50.2 million.
By comparison, over the same period, Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) made no $BTC purchases or sales during the full week of October 19–25. It still held about 848,517 BTC, while directing cash toward repurchasing approximately $205 million worth of STRC preferred stock—a move we covered separately in our October 26, 22:55 edition. One company paused its preferred-stock buybacks while another snapped up more than 6,000 bitcoins: the two publicly listed companies’ Bitcoin treasuries went in completely opposite directions this week.
The purchase window fell in mid-to-late October, and the report was dated October 26. All figures come directly from Strive’s SEC Form 8-K, not secondhand rumors. The Chinese-language morning brief also juxtaposed this news with Strategy’s pause in purchases: one side sitting idle, the other loading up on more than 6,000 coins—the contrast speaks for itself. Readers can easily tell who’s accumulating coins and who’s buying back shares. Binance spot $BTC is still hovering around $80,000; corporate treasury moves shouldn’t be treated as trading signals, and don’t go all in.
