Dogecoin Labs, established with the support of the Dogecoin Foundation, officially launched today, bringing three businesses under one independent company: the MyDoge wallet (which claims 500,000+ users and has just launched V3); the DogeOS app platform (whose EVM-compatible public testnet goes live on September 30, with no mainnet date announced yet, and whose reported “secure connection” to the Dogecoin mainnet is also not complete); and merchant payments through Such App (whose beta supports invoicing and in-person QR code payments, though integration with DogeOS is still in the planning stage).

The organizational structure is the easiest part to sort out. The real problem for $DOGE has never been a lack of people building apps; it’s that not many people actually need to use it to pay for things. With no mainnet connection on the public testnet and QR code tools not yet integrated into the app layer, the loop hasn’t been closed today.

So my take is: this is a 12-to-24-month story, not a catalyst for this week. The hype will probably fade within a week.

Would you buy $DOGE on an “ecosystem integration” headline, or only pay attention when someone touts it?
