Trading Notes | Private Keys and Addresses
① Most Bitcoin addresses are created by hashing a public key or script and then encoding it. Common formats begin with 1, 3, or bc1.
② A public key is derived from a private key using elliptic curve operations. This process is one-way; deriving a private key from a public key is infeasible in practice.
③ To receive funds, you only need to provide an address. You should never provide your private key or recovery phrase.
