Bitcoin dipped again on Monday night, hitting a low of around 79,450 before climbing back above 80,000 a few hours later.
This morning, it’s still hovering around 80,000 during the Asian session, just shy of the 81,000 level I mentioned yesterday.
Yesterday, the short-term resistance at 81,000 wasn’t reached. The 79,800 support was briefly pierced overnight, then reclaimed.
The Fed’s rate decision is tomorrow, so the Asian session will likely remain in wait-and-see mode.
Two short-term levels to watch:
Above: 80,850, last night’s rebound high.
Below: 79,450, the bottom of last night’s lower wick.
The medium-term ceiling remains at 84,300.
If 79,200 gives way again, the next meaningful support is around 76,300.
From what I can see, this is still low-volume consolidation ahead of the Fed’s decision, not a new direction.
Bitcoin needs to get above 80,850 before it has a shot at testing 81,000. If it breaks below 79,450, it’ll probably retest the weekend low.
