$DOGE DOGE is back in the conversation because of two security stories. In one, a former employee of Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE, sharing its acronym with the coin) used an AI agent to breach Anthropic’s internal systems over 12 hours on the day Anthropic filed for an IPO. As a result, DOGE rose just 1.4% in 24 hours—barely moving in price.
The only confirmed details about the breach are that a former DOGE employee used an AI agent to break in, taking 12 hours, and that Anthropic was the target. Separately, the community issued a phishing alert following a hardware wallet data leak. So far, there’s only a headline; no details have been confirmed about how the data was leaked or who was affected.
Neither of these two stories points to the Dogecoin chain itself being compromised. One involves a former Department of Government Efficiency employee getting into an AI company; the other is a hardware wallet leak alert. What brought the DOGE name back into the conversation was a Musk-related hot narrative; there is currently no corresponding evidence of an on-chain security issue.
The market view is limited to the current snapshot. 24-hour trading volume is $222.5 million, open interest is up a net 0.6% over one hour and 1.0% over six hours, and the funding rate is close to zero. These figures alone don’t indicate the direction of buying or selling, or show who is actively adding or reducing positions; they only suggest there are no obvious extreme readings at the moment.
Based on this snapshot, there are no signs that the market has confirmed it is pricing this in as an ongoing risk, nor is there a sustained signal of selling or buying pressure yet. My view is that the name was briefly borrowed for this wave of attention, and the security incident has not had a lasting impact on the market.
For now, keep an eye on just one condition: if trading volume doesn’t pick up significantly and OI stops rising, the story will remain at the discussion stage. Whether it develops into a market move will depend on how trading volume and OI change from here.
