The Ethereum Glamsterdam upgrade has hit the brakes.

The Glamsterdam upgrade, originally scheduled to activate on the Hoodi testnet on October 27 Beijing time, has been officially postponed. A new activation time has not yet been announced. Testnet delays usually mean that clients, node coordination, or specification validation need more time, and the team has chosen to proceed cautiously rather than rush.

For developers and validators, the short-term priority is to keep an eye on client release announcements and the updated testnet schedule, and not to plan upgrade operations around the original date. Finding issues on a testnet before mainnet is, overall, not a bad thing; however, the mainnet schedule should also be guided by future official announcements.

$ETH holders do not need to judge mainnet risk based solely on the testnet delay. The key factors are the reason for the postponement, progress on fixes, and whether the next activation goes smoothly.
