Before looking at positions, understand the funding rate.
When the contract price is above the spot index, the rate is often positive and longs pay; when it’s below the spot price, the rate is often negative and shorts pay.
Funding rates for illiquid coins tend to fluctuate more sharply. One extreme reading doesn’t necessarily indicate a trend, and extreme rates are rarer for major coins.
Don’t change your pace based on a single indicator, and especially don’t use borrowed money to test a reading.
