I went through three announcements today and picked out the ones most relevant to me.
Binance Wallet has launched an AXIS trading competition on Alpha, with a prize pool worth $200,000. It runs in two phases: the first from October 26 at 13:00 UTC to November 2 at 13:00 UTC, and the second through November 9 at 13:00 UTC. The rankings are based on the total amount of AXIS purchased during the event, with rewards shared among the top 2,000 participants. To join, you must first be eligible to trade Alpha tokens, so check regional restrictions for yourself. One thing to note: they’re measuring purchase volume—that is, the amount bought—not the amount held. Don’t mix those up.
At 08:00 UTC on October 28, Binance Spot will list the USDC/AED trading pair and enable Spot Algo Orders bots for the pair at the same time. AED is a fiat currency, not a cryptocurrency—don’t confuse the two. Taker fee discounts are also currently available for USDC Spot and Margin trading pairs, until further notice. This may be useful if you want to trade in or out using AED, or save on fees. Note that the new trading pair is subject to regional eligibility restrictions, so check whether you can trade it where you are.
At 06:30 UTC on October 22, Binance adjusted the tick sizes—the minimum price movement increments—for several USDⓈ-M perpetual contracts. The official announcement says this won’t affect trading operations or existing orders: orders placed before the adjustment will still be matched using the original tick size. If you use the API, take note: tick sizes can change, so fetch the latest information using GET /fapi/v1/exchangeInfo. The materials don’t list all the affected contracts or their new tick sizes, so I won’t guess. Check the original announcement before placing an order.
