Akash Network has opened governance proposal No. 346, which proposes migrating the network from the independent Cosmos chain akashnet-2 to the Solana mainnet. At the time of this update, approximately 98.29% of votes were in favor.

Voting began at 23:02 on October 26 and is expected to end at 23:02 on November 2, Beijing time. The proposal has not set a date for the network migration; migrating the markets will require a separate proposal to activate.

If the proposal is approved and the token audit and migration portal are completed, AKT will be issued as an SPL token on Solana, with a 1:1 migration ratio and the AKT ticker unchanged. The audits are expected to take 2–3 weeks.

The one-way migration portal will open in two years. Users staking AKT need to unstake first; this process takes 21 days. Akash said its choice of Solana was based on operating costs under network load, its decentralized operating model, and the level of decentralization in the DePIN ecosystem.
