JPM Coin launches on Ethereum: Does institutional adoption mean greater value for $ETH ?

$JPM

On October 19, JPMorgan announced that its dollar deposit token, “JPM Coin,” would be available to institutional clients on the Ethereum network, alongside the Base network. This signals the expanding use of public infrastructure in finance, but it does not automatically mean that ETH will increase in value.

The key analytical question is: Will this use turn into sustained activity on Ethereum, and how much of that activity will take place on the main network versus Layer 2s such as Base? The news alone isn’t enough to answer this; we need to track actual usage and network fees over time.

In your opinion, what’s the most important metric for measuring the impact of institutional adoption on Ethereum: the number of applications, settlement volume, or network fees?
