🏛 Wall Street against tokenization?
Nine publicly traded companies, including Broadcom, Verizon, UnitedHealth, and CoreWeave, have blocked trading in tokens representing their shares on OKX–ICE. The platform is being developed by the NYSE (ICE) and crypto exchange OKX.
The objections kept piling up: first there was one (Cerebras), and eventually there were nine. The notice doesn’t state the reasons. The SEC’s order mentions risks: the accuracy of shareholder records and a gap between the token price and the actual share price.
Stock tokenization is moving forward, but issuers are clearly not thrilled 👀
