BTC price action really does look off: price is wrestling around 80,000, bears have the upper hand, but don’t blindly chase shorts
Price is still wrestling around 80,000, and yes, bears have the upper hand for now. But if you’re thinking this is a place to blindly chase shorts, I have to stop you: brother, don’t get carried away.
BTC is hovering around 80,000. The plan to short a rebound remains unchanged, but that absolutely does not mean opening a short right on support. A lot of people get itchy fingers whenever price reaches a round number, then end up shorting the floor and longing the ceiling, getting stopped out back and forth until their mindset completely falls apart.$ETH
Moving-average resistance is still pressing down: the four-hour EMA21 is around 81,000, the one-hour EMA200 around 81,600, and the daily EMA21 around 82,100. The four-hour moving averages remain bearishly aligned. Until a rebound reclaims these levels, don’t talk about a reversal.
Open interest fell about 1.56% over the past 24 hours, so deleveraging is still contributing to the decline. Don’t see a drop and immediately claim, “The shakeout is over, it’ll rise right away.” The market doesn’t take orders that easily.
My approach is simple: stay out and wait for a rebound into the 81,000–81,600 range. Once price enters that zone, wait for it to spike and then close back below 81,000 on the one-hour chart before considering a small short position. It’s Fed decision week, so keep leverage low and don’t bet on the outcome in advance. Today, I’m waiting to short a rebound—no chasing the drop, and no rushing to buy the dip just because price touched support.
I entered ETH at 2,335 at market price last night and took a small 40-point profit. Today I’ll keep waiting for a good entry. The big move is coming, but it’s only an opportunity if you can wait for it; otherwise, you’re just catching a falling knife. This is just my personal review, not investment advice.$ZEC
