Why do people often say “wait for 6 confirmations” for Bitcoin, but “finalized” for Ethereum?
Ethereum blocks generally reach “finalized” status after two epochs (about 12.8 minutes).
When accepting a large payment, wait for enough confirmations or finality before releasing it—don’t just look for “on-chain.”
On Ethereum, the staked $ETH is the guarantee of finality: rewriting a finalized block would mean losing a huge amount of staked funds. Currently 2316.92.
