Just because a USDC cross-chain tool is accessible doesn’t mean it will continue supporting the old route. Circle’s CCTP V1 will begin reducing burn limits on October 31, and the legacy contracts will be suspended on December 1. Apps that still point to these contracts will no longer be able to complete USDC cross-chain transfers through the legacy version.

One detail is easy to miss: V2 uses separate contracts and APIs and isn’t backward compatible. Renaming an app page doesn’t mean the underlying system has migrated. Before using a relevant wallet or cross-chain service, ordinary users can check whether the provider has explicitly confirmed that it has switched to the new version. Developers integrating the service should verify the contract addresses, interfaces, and call parameters.

This is a scheduled phase-out of a cross-chain route—not a complete shutdown of USDC. Cross-chain transactions still carry contract, address, and relay risks, so verify the destination chain and receiving address before transferring.
