$BTC falls below $80,000; support at $78,000

QCP’s market report today puts it plainly: “Support is at $78,000, resistance at $86,000.” The data points to a bearish short-term outlook for $BTC and a bearish outlook for the broader market as well.

The reason is that tensions in the Middle East, combined with ETF outflows, have triggered liquidations of leveraged long positions. It’s currently trading at $80,332, hovering around the $80,000 mark.

Put simply, bulls are short on buyers right now: ETFs are seeing outflows, leveraged positions are being liquidated, and the price can only move lower in search of buyers. The funding rate is just 0.0083%, so traders aren’t rushing to add leverage to their long positions.

Here’s the counterpoint: if earnings from tech giants this week ease concerns about AI capital spending, or if the price climbs back above $86,000, the bearish outlook will no longer hold. Above that, the next range is $88,000 to $90,000. Conversely, if the Fed takes a hawkish stance or tensions in the Middle East escalate, $78,000 may not hold.

For now, keep an eye on the $78,000 and $86,000 levels.
