🚨 DeFi on-chain sell-off alert

An institutional whale, $AAVE , moves $22.86 million (156,690 tokens) and breaks through the key $140 support level, down to $134.13 (-4.49%).

While retail traders tried to buy the psychological $140 bottom, expecting an automatic rebound, CryptoQuant’s latest flow report revealed how smart money set up the distribution trap by sending supply directly to exchanges:

Direct exchange inflows: Of the 156,690 AAVE moved by the institutional wallet, 62,000 tokens have already been deposited directly on exchanges for execution or short hedging, breaking the buyers’ defense at $140.00.

Record available supply (ESR at 0.1615): CryptoQuant’s Exchange Supply Ratio (ESR) jumped to a three-week high of 0.1615, confirming that the reserves ready to sell on the order books are still growing amid the decline.

Technical weakness and lower liquidation pool: With the daily RSI plunging to 38 and the MACD in negative territory, losing $140 leaves the liquidation pool of trapped longs at $132.00 exposed (while Ethereum ETFs see outflows of -$224.96M this week, dragging the entire DeFi sector down).

💡 My take: A classic distribution anomaly; when a whale moves nearly $23M and the exchange supply ratio hits a three-week high right at a key support level, they’re not accumulating—they’re using dip buyers as exit liquidity before sweeping $132.

What do you think? Can $AAVE reclaim $140 today, or are we looking at a continuation lower, straight toward the $132 pool? 👇📉
