A packed macro week is keeping $BTC stuck near $80,000 for now.

On the evening of October 26 Beijing time, $BTC traded in the $80,200–$80,500 range. Earlier in the Asian session, it briefly fell below $80,000, bottoming out around $79,300 before managing a modest rebound. $ETH hovered around $2,320, while $SOL was still trading near $101. The market is quiet—more like it’s waiting for a major event.

The Fed is the main thing weighing on sentiment. Its rate decision is due at 14:00 ET on October 28 (02:00 Beijing time on October 29), with markets broadly expecting rates to remain unchanged at 3.75%–4.00%. Fed Chair Warsh will hold a press conference at 14:30 ET the same day. Traders are watching more closely to see whether he leaves the door open wider to a December rate hike. With oil prices elevated, inflation sticky, and geopolitical tensions ongoing, a hawkish tone would put even more pressure on risk assets. The European Central Bank, Bank of Japan, and earnings reports from major tech companies are also on the agenda this week, adding to the volatility window.

For now, the clearest signal for major cryptocurrencies is to pull back first and see what the Fed says.
