Today's recap: Bitcoin kept testing the waters around $80K, and so did my heart rate. But what really made me laugh today was CZ's line: “Multiple chains, one coins”—multiple chains, one coin.
The BNB Chain docs mention a new L1 (temporarily named New L1): it will run alongside BSC, not replace it, and aims for 200 ms block times and around 20 ms pre-confirmations. It's designed for high-frequency trading, on-chain order books, and payments. The key point: no new token. Gas, staking, and governance will still use $BNB . After staking, you'll receive non-transferable govBNB voting power at a 1:1 ratio.
The old crypto rule is “new chain launches, new token follows.” This time they're doing the opposite, so I had to quietly pull back the hand that was ready to farm a new airdrop. But let's stay calm: for now, there's only an internal devnet. The public testnet is planned for the end of the year, with mainnet targeted for early 2027. The native cross-chain bridge isn't finished yet, and the privacy pool docs explicitly warn against using real money. Pre-confirmation ≠ final confirmation—friends who do high-frequency trading know that better than I do.
Here's the question: if one chain focuses on high-frequency trading while another looks after existing DeFi users, do you think this kind of “one chain, one purpose” approach is more reliable than pushing a single chain to get faster and faster?
