BNB Chain is building a second Layer 1, and there's no new token 👀
On October 22, BNB Chain added a technical spec to its official docs. It describes a new EVM-compatible Layer 1 that will run alongside BNB Smart Chain, not replace it. It's built for apps that need faster transactions, and it aims for 200-millisecond blocks.
The part I like most: $BNB stays the only token on both chains. There's no new coin to farm. It just gives the coin we already have more uses.
A public testnet is planned for late 2026, so it's still early, and details could change before launch.
Meanwhile, the wider market is cautious, with $BTC slipping under $80K ahead of this week's Fed decision.
