BNB Chain is launching a new L1, but its token will still be BNB. The old EVM architecture really isn’t cutting it anymore, so rebuilding as a high-performance L1 to scale makes sense. Binance certainly doesn’t lack users or funding, and it would be hard to meet the performance requirements just by patching up the existing chain. Starting a new chain is a reasonable move.
