#bnb The past two months have not been a smooth upward trend, but rather a sequence of “bottoming out—rallying—pulling back—recovering.” The overall return was positive, but the ride was volatile.
**My assessment is that BNB has maintained some relative strength, but for now this looks more like a recovery after a pullback than a confirmed new uptrend.**
This analysis covers the period from August 25 to October 25, 2026, using Binance spot UTC daily candles. As of October 24, the last fully completed trading day, BNB rose from an opening price of 704.31 USDT on the first day of the period to 740.00 USDT, a gain of about 5.07%. At around 19:50 Beijing time on October 25, the latest price on the still-open daily candle was 743.31 USDT; this is only a market snapshot, not the day's closing price.
## 1. Up 5% over two months, yet with a double-digit pullback
From late August to early September, BNB first went through a consolidation phase, hitting a period low of 674.60 USDT intraday on September 1.
Then momentum improved in September: it closed at 766.53 on September 5, pulled back, and then advanced again, closing at 799.41 on September 21. Calculated from the September 1 closing price of 683.00, this leg rose by about 17.04%.
But the rally did not continue smoothly.
On October 5, BNB hit a period high of 809.99 USDT intraday, then pulled back noticeably, closing at 718.02 on October 17. Calculated from the full daily closing sequence, the maximum drawdown during this observation period was about 10.18%.
By October 24, the price had recovered to 740.00, rebounding about 3.06% from October 17, but it was still below the previous high.
**This means that the recent rebound has recovered part of the decline, but has not yet regained lost ground.** Looking only at the positive return between the start and end of the two-month period can easily understate the volatility risk during the holding period.
## 2. What does outperforming BTC mean?
Using the same exchange and the same start/end methodology, BTC rose from 78,992.76 to 80,888.16 USDT over the same period, up about 2.40%.
BNB’s gain outpaced it by about 2.67 percentage points, and the BNB/BTC price ratio rose by about 2.61%. This shows that holding BNB during this period delivered some relative return compared with holding BTC.
But "outperforming BTC" does not mean "low risk."
BNB still suffered a double-digit closing drawdown and did not escape the influence of the broader market thanks to this relative edge alone. Going forward, rather than only watching BNB’s USDT price, it is more worthwhile to observe whether the BNB/BTC ratio can continue to strengthen during the rebound.
If the dollar-denominated price rises while it continues to weaken relative to BTC, then the move may be driven more by a broader market recovery than by a strengthening of BNB’s own fundamentals.
## 3. Burn is a supply change, not capital inflow
A key supply-side event was BNB’s 37th quarterly burn.
An official announcement from BNB Chain disclosed that 1,646,196.44 BNB were burned in this round, leaving total supply at 131,512,085 BNB.
Reducing supply can support long-term scarcity expectations, but two concepts should not be confused:
First, the burn valuation in the announcement does not mean an equivalent amount of capital was used to buy BNB, nor does it mean the market received an equivalent amount of new liquidity.
Second, a reduction in supply does not mean the price must rise. Actual pricing still depends on demand, market liquidity, and investor risk appetite.
Timing is also important: the September rally and the early-October high both occurred before this October 19 announcement, so the announcement cannot be used to explain the entire rally. As for whether the market priced in expectations of the burn in advance, there is not enough evidence to draw a direct conclusion.
## 4. Can ecosystem activity turn into real demand?
In terms of the ecosystem, BNB Chain officially launched a tokenized stock-themed hackathon from September 16 to October 11.
This kind of event shows how the ecosystem is driving related application development, but event launches and more projects do not directly translate into BNB demand growth.
What is truly worth tracking is: after projects go live, do they continue to be used? Do users stay? Can on-chain transactions and fee demand grow?
**Events create room for imagination, but sustained usage is what can provide a more solid demand base.** In the absence of continuous user, capital flow, and transaction data, it is not advisable to directly treat ecosystem promotion as the cause of a price increase.
## 5. Next, focus on three conditions
**First, can the price structure improve?**
The area around 800–810 is the historical high zone within this observation window. Returning close to this level does not mean a breakout; whether it can hold above it for long, and whether it pulls back quickly after breaking through, is more meaningful.
**Second, can relative strength continue?**
If BNB rises while the BNB/BTC ratio also strengthens, the signal of an improving trend will be more complete; if relative performance weakens, expectations for independent momentum should be lowered.
**Third, can the pullback low hold?**
The area around 705–718 in mid-October is a historical low-volume trading zone, but it is not guaranteed to be effective support. If price falls back into this area and continues to weaken, the current judgment of a "recovery rally" needs to be reassessed.
## Conclusion
Over the past two months, BNB has remained in positive territory and outperformed BTC; however, a double-digit drawdown shows that these gains have not come easily.
At this stage, rather than rushing to give a target price, it is better to acknowledge that the market is still in a validation phase: **can price reclaim the previous high, can it remain strong relative to BTC, and can ecosystem progress translate into sustained demand.**
These three conditions are more worth tracking than a single burn amount or one day’s price gain.
