$XRP Heads Into Swell Week: Hype in the Subway, Price Stuck Near $1.29

Ripple's Swell 2026 runs Oct 27–29 at The Shed in New York, and the marketing is already loud: XRP wraps on NYC subway trains around 42nd Street, 100+ speakers on the agenda, and the XRP Army on X guessing what gets announced.

The price tells a calmer story. XRP is trading around $1.286 on Binance, down about 1.1% in 24h, inside a tight $1.273–$1.311 range. Levels traders on X keep pointing to are roughly $1.26 as near-term support and $1.40 as the first real resistance.

My take: conference weeks often follow a "buy the rumor, sell the news" pattern. If Swell brings concrete things, like new institutional partners actually settling on the XRP Ledger or real RLUSD volume numbers, that is the kind of news that can hold up after the keynote. If it is mostly vision talk, the subway ads may age faster than the price action.

There is also a macro layer: the Fed rate decision lands on Oct 28, mid-conference, and BTC is still fighting around $80K. XRP rarely decouples from that for long.

I'd rather watch how $XRP reacts to the headlines than front-run them. A daily close above $1.40 would be a different conversation.
