Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have set around the second quarter of next year to begin mass production and shipments of eight-layer HBM4 for Nvidia, ZDNet Korea reported on the 26th. According to Odaily, a source familiar with the matter said Nvidia is expected to use eight-layer HBM4 in rack-scale systems based on Rubin Ultra. Twelve-layer HBM4 is expected to remain the main focus this year, while the share of eight-layer HBM4 is expected to increase significantly from mid-next year.
