$Q 5-minute trading volume was approximately $1.33 million, 9.7 times the previous average; during the same period, the price fell 3.76%.
How is this number calculated?
Trading volume in futures and spot markets often differs considerably. Futures volume includes a lot of leveraged trading, so a spike in volume doesn’t mean quite the same thing in both markets.
When volume surges near a high but the price struggles to rise, it’s often called “rising volume, flat price,” and many people take it as a sign of growing disagreement between buyers and sellers.
Don’t place orders during the most volatile few minutes. Wait for the candlestick to settle before deciding.
