$API3 ranks No. 2 in Square’s trending searches, yet its price is down 2.7% in a day. Where is all the buzz coming from?

I took a look at the numbers (OKX / CoinGecko, 7:30 this morning):

・Current price around 0.249, down 11% over 30 days; from the 10/7 open of 0.333, that’s about a 25% drop
・Each rebound peak has been lower than the last: 10/13 0.330 → 10/21 0.290 → 10/24 0.271 → yesterday 0.261
・Yesterday’s low was 0.2488, and the price is now hovering right around it
・OKX spot trading volume: about $2.56 million on 10/7, down to just about $67,000 yesterday
・Open interest in perpetuals is only around $450,000, with a funding rate of +0.005%—neither bulls nor bears are making much of a move

My take: trending means “people are watching,” not “people are buying.” Until volume picks up, this buzz could just be talk. If 0.2488 breaks, the next reference point is lower; reclaiming 0.26–0.27 would be the first sign that the decline is stabilizing.

Risk: With liquidity this thin, a single large order can cause a sharp wick. If you’re considering entering, keep your position small and plan your stop-loss first.
