According to CNBC, Serbia's former President Aleksandar Vucic conceded defeat Sunday in parliamentary elections, saying his Serbian Progressive Party projected the student-backed Students' List would win 135 to 140 seats in the 250-member Parliament, compared with about 105 for his party. Vucic said his party received around 1.7 million votes and the Students' List about 2.2 million. The election followed nearly two years of student-led protests over alleged corruption and the government's record on democracy.
