Welcome, fellow traders! Today, I’m launching the third educational series, dedicated entirely to Risk Management & Capital Protection. Now that we’ve mastered reading Japanese candlesticks and drawing trendlines and support levels, we’re moving on to the true secret that sets successful traders apart from those who go broke: protecting capital.

🎯 Rule #1: “In trading, your first goal isn’t how much profit you’ll make... it’s how to protect your money so you can stay in the market tomorrow.”

💡 The concept in simple terms:

Many beginners enter the market focused only on “How much will I make from this trade?”, while a professional first asks: “How much am I willing to lose if things go against my expectations?”

The cryptocurrency market is full of opportunities and sharp fluctuations; without a strict risk management plan, one devastating losing trade can wipe out months of hard-earned profits.

---

🔍 1️⃣ The golden rule of portfolio management (the safe percentage):

Never gamble all your money on a single trade, no matter how strong your analysis is.

• The 1% to 2% rule:

- Your potential loss on any single trade should not exceed 1% to 2% of your total portfolio capital.

- Example: If your portfolio contains $1,000, the maximum amount you should risk losing on one trade is just $10 to $20 (this is achieved by tying your position size to your stop-loss distance).

---

🔍 2️⃣ Understanding the relationship between win rate and risk-to-reward ratio:

Successful trading does not depend on winning 100% of your trades (that’s impossible in the world of trading); it depends on sound math:

• The reward-to-risk ratio (1:2 or 1:3):

- If all your trades have a potential reward that is double your risk (for example, risking $50 to make $150), then even if you win just 4 out of 10 trades, you’ll still be profitable and end the month with a solid net gain.

---

🛠 How do you apply risk management in practice before pressing the buy button?

1. Set your stop-loss level first: Before looking for a target and before entering a trade, decide where your analysis is invalidated and place your stop loss (Stop Loss).

2. Calculate your position size: Based on the stop-loss distance and the amount of capital you can afford to lose, determine how many units or coins to buy.

3. Stick to the plan and control your emotions: Don’t move your stop-loss order farther away during a trade, trying to “give the price another chance.” Hope is a trader’s greatest enemy.

---

⚖️ The rule in a nutshell:

“The market is always moving and opportunities never end, but your capital is your only weapon... protect it vigilantly and don’t leave it at the mercy of your emotions.”

💬 Tell us in the comments:

Do you always calculate the risk-to-reward ratio carefully before entering trades, or do you just set an entry point and a target?
