NEAR ETFs saw $5.22 million in inflows over a week, and a bunch of accounts called it “massive net inflows.”
$5.22 million is massive? Guys, has the bear market lowered our standards for “massive”?
What really made me laugh was the copy. A few minutes after WallStreetX’s October 25 post that started with “WSX NEWS,” a bunch of smaller accounts reposted it word for word. Then there was another line: “It's hard not be be bullish on NEAR right now.” At least two accounts repeated even that “not be be” typo exactly. “Spontaneous optimism” that syncs up down to the typo—make of that what you will.
I’m not disputing the data itself: Bitwise’s NRR has seen net inflows for four consecutive weeks, Birdeye puts the cumulative total at $88.3 million, and funds hold more than 1.3% of NEAR’s total supply. Those are facts, and they count as a small positive signal.
But using “four weeks, a few million a week” to claim “institutions are scooping it up” is like making a little trickle sound like the Yellow River. The inflows are there, and holdings are growing—no issue there. The problem is, the people hyping it never tell you when they’re selling.
Look at the data if you want; skip the template posts.
