Breaking down the futures market: volume, price, levels

Whether to take this trade—the funding rate is more honest than the candlesticks.

Check positioning for crowding first, then look at price.

BTC open interest notional: $7.50 billion, 24h -1.63%
Account-wide long/short ratio: 2.10
BTC 80355 (-0.53%), ETH 2329 (-1.75%).

Funding rate is near zero at 0.0069%, and the long/short ratio is 2.10: leverage hasn’t picked a side. If it hasn’t picked a side, don’t use high leverage to pick one for it.

Key levels: upside 80,998, downside 78,908. Keep one-sided exposure below 2x account equity. Place stop-losses beyond the structure, not at round-number prices that just feel right.

Open interest is already down 1.63% over 24h. Only if it drops further while price holds above the 24h low can we say the flush is over—not yet.

Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. Missing figures are not filled in.
Would you place a limit order at the pullback level, or wait for the candle to close?

Useful tip: Liquidations happen in a queue; your stop-loss price isn’t the liquidation price. When the queue gets clogged, slippage is on you.
Idea: If the funding rate turns positive and the long/short ratio is >1.15, note that the market is crowded before thinking about chasing the rally.
