PancakeSwap has opened voting on “The Flip” proposal, which aims to reduce daily CAKE emissions to 7,000 tokens—a cut of approximately 69%.
The same proposal also plans to increase liquidity providers’ share of trading fees on some trades to 88%. In other words, the vote will decide two things: the rate at which new CAKE is issued and how trading fees are split between liquidity providers and the protocol.
For CAKE holders and users who provide liquidity on PancakeSwap, the outcome will directly affect emissions-related dilution and the structure of market-making returns. Voting is still ongoing, and the final outcome will depend on the votes cast and the results of implementation.
