$TAG This coin is pretty interesting today: the 24h gains reported by three different platforms for the same coin on the same day range from +17% all the way to +54%. Which one do you believe?

First, what does this coin do? It’s a platform on BNB Chain for labeling data for AI. The labeling work is distributed to people across the network, with AI assistants helping out. It’s a real AI data project with actual work behind it. Its liquidity pool was created at the end of 2024, so it’s not a newcomer.

The strange part is the trading: the leaderboard shows about $5 million in 24h volume across 22,400 trades—11,000 buys worth $2.56 million and 11,400 sells worth $2.43 million, almost evenly split. Yet the price climbed steadily from 0.000538 to 0.000629. This isn’t a case of buyers overwhelming sellers; it looks more like both sides are trading back and forth while the price is gradually being pushed up.

Now look at the market cap figures: the circulating supply is 108 billion tokens, which works out to about $68 million; the total supply is 405 billion, which works out to about $255 million. Those two figures on the same page differ by nearly 4x. Before discussing market cap, you have to ask: which figure are you using?

One more thing that sets it apart from the coins I’ve written about recently: the top 10 holders own just 14%, so ownership is fairly spread out. There are over 51,000 holders, and the main TAG/WBNB pool has about $2.01 million in liquidity, so it’s not particularly shallow. The price is still about 70% below its May high.

Here’s the breakdown: a signal to keep watching is buying and selling becoming heavily one-sided, or the pool getting noticeably deeper. A signal to walk away is the price falling back to around where it started rising today. If you’re already holding, check two things now: whether you’re calculating market cap using the circulating supply or the total supply, and whether the main pool’s depth is keeping pace with the price. A reason to change my view would be the top 10 suddenly becoming more concentrated, or buying and selling becoming imbalanced to the point of one-sided selling. If that happens, I’ll change my tune.

This is not investment advice. Alpha projects are high-risk and may go to zero.

How long do you think this kind of evenly matched buying and selling, with the price still rising, can last?
