Everyone, the NFT sector has been pretty quiet over the past couple of days. I thought $PENGU would break down along with it.
Well, surprise—it didn’t.
Current price: 0.007423; 24-hour change: -2.649%; 7-day change: -0.616%.
That’s basically going nowhere for a week. Its 20-day range is 0.007053 to 0.009865,
putting it at the 13.2nd percentile, scraping along the bottom. The 7-day moving average is 0.007726,
and the price is still below it. Daily ATR14 is just 7.32%—it can barely be bothered to move.
The newer projects on the sidelines look nothing like this. $BIRB plunged from 0.20887 to 0.07761,
with a 24-hour change of -54.680%. IRYS is down 53.526% in 24 hours after gaining 194.308% over seven days.
IN is down 33.821% in 24 hours. Money follows the hype, and when the tide goes out, thinly funded tokens are the first to lose their footing.
The market’s still the same market.
By contrast, $JCT is up 275.800% over the past seven days. The token taking over the baton has changed.
It’s like a market fair: the stalls are the same, but a new batch of vendors has taken over.
I looked at a few sources; here’s my synthesis. The logic behind this round of migration isn’t complicated. What’s scarce isn’t a story—it’s the liquidity to back it. Hype spends the night wherever there’s still fresh money.
PENGU is like a warehouse: the goods are still there, but nobody’s coming to pick them up, so the price can only move sideways and wait for people to come back.
My stance is to keep watching it. There’s just one reason: a 7.32% daily volatility rate says it’s already lost steam. A token that’s lost steam either keeps drifting down or waits for a news catalyst to reignite it.
If you ask me, the thing really worth watching this week is whether it can reclaim that 0.007726 moving average.
What do you all think? Let’s talk in the comments.
