Next week, the crypto market will face two macroeconomic “checkpoints” on the same day, Vietnam time.

The official schedule currently lists:

• 01:00 on 29/10/2026: FOMC decision, following the Fed meeting in the U.S. on 27–28/10.
• 01:30 on 29/10: Fed press conference.
• 19:30 on 29/10: U.S. third-quarter GDP, the first estimate, along with September income and spending data, including the PCE price index.

Note the order: the Fed announces first, followed by GDP and PCE about 18 and a half hours later. They fall on the same day in Vietnam, but not at the same time.

My take: the market’s initial reaction after the Fed may not be its final reaction.

If the rate message is softer than expected, sentiment toward risk assets could get a boost. But hotter-than-expected inflation data later could still prompt the market to reprice. The reverse is also true.

Strong GDP also needs to be considered alongside inflation: solid growth could support sentiment, but if it comes with elevated price pressures, rate expectations may not become any more favorable.

For crypto, I’ll also be watching the U.S. dollar and bond yields after each release. A green candle right when the news breaks isn’t enough to conclude that the trend has changed.

Will you pay more attention to the Fed’s messaging, or wait for the GDP/PCE data as well?
