When swapping on Uniswap’s website, trade routes can now also tap into liquidity from external protocols.

On October 22, Uniswap Labs announced that Aggregator Hooks had launched on the Ethereum mainnet, Base, and Robinhood Chain, both on its website and through its API. The feature wraps external liquidity sources in v4 pools, allowing the router to compare quotes from those sources with Uniswap’s own pools, then complete the swap in a single on-chain transaction. The website automatically includes external sources.

What matters more to me is where the fees go: trades that use external liquidity through these Hooks also pay Uniswap protocol fees, contributing to UNI burns. So to assess the feature’s value, you need to look at the routes trades actually take—not just whether new funds have been added to Uniswap’s own pools.

A burn mechanism doesn’t guarantee that the token price will rise. When swapping, you should still check the final amount received, fees, and slippage; smart contract and token volatility risks remain.
