$BTC $SOL Morning market brief: First, a number—BTC briefly fell to $79,221 on Saturday, breaking below the $80,000 mark.

It was still at $80,471 late Friday. In less than a day, it first dropped below $80,000, then climbed back above $80,700.
SOL was even more volatile: it briefly plunged to $98.51, breaking below $100, and is now at $102.3.
ETH is at $2,359, also pulling back.

The trigger was the Middle East: the U.S. evacuated personnel from the region on Saturday, as threats of Iranian attacks escalated.
Liquidations topped $810 million in 24 hours, mostly on long positions. Weekend liquidity is thin, making price breaks especially prone to triggering cascading liquidations.

U.S. stocks fell first on Friday: the S&P 500 was down 0.52%, the Nasdaq 0.21%, and the Dow 1.23%; Brent crude fell 1.3% to $111.7.

Let me own this: Friday's prediction that BTC would hold $81,000 has been invalidated. The weekend range I forecast on Saturday—$79,000–$81,000—still holds for now, with the low of $79,221 right within that range.

What to watch next week: If BTC can't reclaim $81,000 on Monday, resistance remains at $81,000–$81,285. The FOMC meets on 10/27–28, and Microsoft and Google report after the market close on 10/28.
