Iran has not presented any new proposal to Pakistani mediators and rejected reports that it offered to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the United States lifting its naval blockade. According to Sina Finance, an informed source called Al Arabiya’s report that Tehran had proposed the exchange to Washington “lies and fantasies.” The source said Iran would not accept any arrangement trading the Strait of Hormuz for an end to the blockade, and that Tehran would work around the blockade in its own way and ultimately break it.

The source said Iran was standing by seven conditions formally conveyed through mediators. The “seven-day plan,” which included Tehran’s demand to reopen the strait, had been submitted to Washington, the source said. The source added that insecurity in the strait would continue until all of Iran’s demands were met, including an end to disruptions affecting Iranian ports and shipping.
