Colombian investor sees signs in Venezuela: "Venezuelans are more interested in doing business"
Andrés Bilbao, entrepreneur, investor, and member of Rappi's founding team, noted that business owners and entrepreneurs are willing to explore new opportunities in the Venezuelan market.
Entrepreneur, investor, and member of Rappi's founding team Andrés Bilbao noted that Venezuelans «are currently more interested in doing business than in politics».
He also noted that «internally, we also see people waking up to more possibilities and doing many more things», given the strong willingness among business owners and entrepreneurs to explore new opportunities in the Venezuelan market.
He pointed out that there is determination and curiosity about Venezuela abroad, as international business owners are interested in the country’s strategic sectors.
Andrés Bilbao told Bloomberg Línea during a media meeting held in connection with the second Venezuelan edition of Inmersivo Ejecutivo 30X that he does not believe the country’s economic transition will happen very quickly, but that it is underway.
He highlighted his intention to have a greater presence in Venezuela, saying he could make between 4 and 6 visits a year. He added that he wants to contribute to the country with all the knowledge he has gained over the years.
«It is very important to us to contribute, help tell all the positive stories we see, talk about the excitement, the opportunity and the network, and build bridges between Venezuela and other countries in Latin America», he emphasized.
The Colombian investor said that in Venezuela, «we need to build a knowledge network and scale up what works threefold», and noted that relationships can be built with business owners from countries such as Argentina and Brazil, which have a track record in various agroindustrial activities.
