🔥 $SOL vs. $ETH : The end of the L2 era or a smart-money trap?
While Crypto Twitter debates the “death” of Ethereum, the metrics tell a very different story. Solana continues to dominate in daily transaction volume and DEX activity, becoming the main hub for retail traders. But here’s where the coffin lid is being closed on L2 networks too soon: institutions aren’t rushing to move liquidity out of $ETH .
Why? It all comes down to MEV architecture and consensus stability. Solana captures volume with pennies in fees and instant execution, but when the market is hit by severe volatility, custom validators and Ethereum staking, along with its L2 ecosystem (Base, Arbitrum), remain a protective barrier for large deposits.
Right now, we’re seeing a redistribution: retail traders are churning volume in $SOL , while the whales quietly accumulate the battered $ETH and its top L2s at the bottom of the imbalance.
💡 Trading take: Don’t fall for the “Ethereum is done” narrative. The ETH/SOL chart is in historically oversold territory. As soon as smaller players finally lose faith in Layer 2, smart money will execute a powerful liquidity sweep and load up on ETH for an impulsive bounce.
