That’s the real traction on X behind TRON’s “$2.21 trillion in stablecoin settlements in Q3” publicity push. On October 18, a batch of bold-text template posts flooded the platform. The one from @tuTransform got 114,000 impressions and zero likes; @Crypto_X3ViiiL got 49,000 impressions and 1 like; @Rich79_Capital got 26,000 impressions and—once again—zero likes. The report came out in early October, and there are still accounts reposting it with a fresh coat of paint.
I’m not going to nitpick the data itself. Around $2.21 trillion in Q3, up 5.1% quarter over quarter, with an average of about $24.05 billion a day; most USDT activity runs on TRON. Those are all facts, and transferring USDT really is cheap and convenient.
But look at how inconsistently they cite the source: some say Nansen, some say CryptoSlate, some say a TRON DAO report. The most straightforward post simply says “according to Justin Sun”—the 73% share and Ethereum’s 15% come straight from Sun himself. His own chain, his own report, his own people spreading it, then dressing it up as third-party endorsement.
Settlement volume ≠ value capture. If a trillion dollars’ worth of USDT moves across TRON, what do TRX holders get out of it? How much of that is exchange hot wallets and OTC desks shuffling funds back and forth? Are people moving USDT going to buy TRX because of a quarterly report?
The chain is usable. The buzz generated by template posts is another matter. Just don’t confuse the two.
