ACU has suddenly started making some moves over the past couple of days!

It was still around $0.098 on October 22, then surged to around $0.12 on the 23rd. The price is now above $0.11, with a swing of more than 20% in just two days.

Whether this rally can continue, I think, ultimately depends on the real demand for computing power behind Acurast.

① What does 335,000 phones mean?

Acurast has connected more than 335,000 phones across over 175 countries, with more than 1.1 billion cumulative on-chain transactions and over 685,000 compute deployments.

I used to think phone mining was just a way to earn a few points. Now I’m realizing that what Acurast wants to do is much bigger than that.

Getting idle phones involved in AI inference, automated tasks, and distributed computing means putting hardware resources scattered around the world to use.

② Can ACU’s value hold up?

ACU is used for network fees, device incentives, staking, and more.

As computing tasks increase, demand for network resources should theoretically grow as well. But one question matters to me: how much of the current growth comes from real developers, and how much is driven by rewards?

Those two kinds of growth have very different long-term value.

③ With the price up, will the market see ACU differently?

There’s plenty of interest in the AI computing-power sector, but most of the capital is still focused on GPUs and large data centers.

Acurast’s advantage is that there’s already a large supply of phone hardware around the world, so there’s no need to build computing facilities from scratch.

If more developers choose to deploy tasks on Acurast in the future, and phone computing power gets used more efficiently, demand for actual use of $ACU could also grow.

However, connecting 335,000 phones doesn’t mean all 335,000 devices are continuously generating revenue. It’s important to keep that in mind.

I think
@Acurast
is worth keeping an eye on. The token price is reacting now; next, we’ll see whether real business activity can keep up.

If you have an idle phone, you could look into Processor too. Trying it out for yourself is more interesting than just reading the project’s promotional materials.
