How do you choose between a limit order and a market order?
A large market order may fill across multiple levels of resting orders, so the final average execution price may differ from the price you saw when placing the order. This is slippage.
A stop-limit order requires a trigger price and a limit price. Once the latest price reaches the trigger price, the system places a limit order at the limit price.
When managing your positions, the most important thing is to check the price, quantity, and order direction before placing an order. Accidentally adding an extra zero or selecting the wrong direction is more common than you might think.
