Just 2 of the 18 major coins were in the green, yet the index said the market was neutral. This combination is worth watching. Historically, it often appears when long positions have yet to be flushed out, but the market has already weakened ahead of sentiment indicators.
Now look at positioning. $BTC long/short position ratio: 2.20, $ETH 3.15, $ETH funding rate: +0.0058%. Longs are an overwhelming majority, and the funding rate is still positive, so leveraged long positions haven’t been washed out much.
But BTC is down 1.34% over 24h, ETH is down 1.38%, $SOL is down 2.78%, and XRP is down 3.06%. Prices are falling while longs are still crowded in. In this kind of situation, I usually tighten up first rather than rush to turn bullish.
Electrum has just released the 4.8.3 security update. According to Wu Blockchain and PANews, the official team said it fixed a critical security issue and urged all users to upgrade immediately. You’d think the word “critical” would at least make $BTC flinch, but it’s down just 1.34% over 24h, and the market has barely reacted. The team says it will publish details later. I lean toward the impact being limited, but we’ll have to wait for the details before making a judgment.
