#Applied Materials fell 17% in a week

I was taken aback by Applied Materials’ investor day: no earnings guidance, while management stood on stage talking about being “confident.” And yet $AMAT fell 17% in a week. That just doesn’t sound right—if they were really confident, wouldn’t they at least be willing to give numbers for next quarter?

It’s now at 377.49, down just 0.92% over the past 24 hours, with trading volume of only 2 million USDT. The market is barely reacting. Most of the decline happened over the course of the week, and today’s price action looks more like a pause after a sharp drop.

I’m leaning bearish: giving no guidance is worse than giving weak guidance—it suggests they really can’t see how the business is shaping up. With only 2 million in volume today, any rebound is unlikely to have much staying power. If the price gets back above 384.91, then I’ll admit I was wrong.

Do you think it can hold above 373.6, today’s intraday low?
