$BTC: First, the counterargument—what would overturn the current assessment

Let’s start with the conditions that would disprove it. Any conclusion must be one that later data can overturn.

Then we’ll return to the upper and lower bounds. The current explanation holds only if the price confirms it.

This snapshot is current as of 16:19 Beijing time on October 24: Binance’s $BTC was 80,778.81 USDT, while OKX read 80,774.70 at the same time. Short- and medium-term readings do not fully agree: 15 minutes +0.06%, 1 hour -0.07%, 4 hours -0.30%. Volume and derivatives readings: volume ratio 1.50, one-hour OI +0.06%, funding rate +0.0032%.

The price hasn’t moved far for now, but trading volume has picked up. The market is seeing a change of hands, and we still need key levels to confirm the direction. Another explanation is that both longs and shorts are reducing risk exposure. Public OI shows only the change in the total, and cannot identify which side is driving it.

80,513.00 is the lower level to watch, and 82,060.88 is the upper confirmation level. A move above 82,060.88 would confirm an upward move; a break below 80,513.00 would signal weakness. If neither level breaks, a directional call is temporarily invalid. I’ll track the changes, not chase a single candlestick.

This is an observation of publicly available market data only and does not constitute investment advice.
