$BTC ETFs See Their Biggest Outflow in Four Months!

Single-day net outflows reach a staggering $635.6 million!

The largest outflow since June this year.

BlackRock’s IBIT alone saw $254.1 million in outflows.

Institutional channels are suddenly bleeding funds. Where is BTC’s next line of defense?

The latest fund flow data shows that U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw net outflows of $635.6 million on October 22, the largest single-day outflow since June this year. BlackRock’s IBIT saw net outflows of $254.1 million, accounting for about 40% of the day’s total. Even more notably, BTC ETFs had recorded $528 million in net inflows on the previous trading day. In just one day, net flows reversed by more than $1.1 billion, signaling sharp swings in investors’ short-term allocation sentiment.

What’s truly concerning is that this massive ETF exodus came just as BTC was retesting the key $81,000 support level. If redemption pressure continues to mount, the spot market could face further selling pressure, with the $80,000 and even $78,000 levels warranting close attention. However, ETF net outflows reflect investor redemption demand; they do not mean that BlackRock is actively selling its own BTC. The key things to watch next are whether flows can turn positive again and whether prices can hold above key support.

A single-day outflow of $635.6 million puts BTC’s short-term funding conditions under serious strain.

If spot buyers can absorb this wave of selling, bulls may still have a chance to quickly mount a counterattack when ETF funds start flowing back in!
