Trading Notes | Block Confirmations
① Bitcoin produces a block about every 10 minutes, so the commonly cited 6 confirmations take about an hour.
② Since Ethereum switched to proof of stake, blocks generally reach “finality” after two epochs (about 12.8 minutes).
③ When receiving a large payment, don’t treat it as received as soon as you see zero confirmations. Wait for enough confirmations before considering it safe.
